On Thanksgiving, Craig posted about how he pigged out on whatever foods he wanted to and provided ways you can do the same without feeling guilty. He also stated that he would be eating whatever he wants on Christmas, Fourth of July, and a few other holidays, as well.
I went on to share his posting and stated that I too would be eating whatever I want on Christmas and on Fourth of July. Actually, to be exact, I said I would be “eating my weight in food”. You can check it out on my facebook page if you scroll down to November 27.
I feel a bit guilty, however, because I made a liar out of myself. In November, I was planning on eating everything in sight on Christmas and any foreseeable get together with family and friends in the near future. But I did not pig out on Christmas.
In fact, I did the complete opposite. There is a very good reason why, though, which I’m extremely excited to share with you.
I have decided to start training for a physique competition. As you might expect, this is a long-term project that requires complete dedication. Yes, EVEN on holidays.
My goal for the next six to eight months is to add lean muscle mass to my body. Put simply, this means eating clean in larger amounts. After that will be the much bigger challenge of eating and training to be show ready.
There is no definite date of when the competition will be, but if everything goes as planned, I will be ready in 2016. I know that sounds far off, but it takes time to build muscle. Time and patience. Lots of patience, actually, when you’re as excited as I am about accomplishing my next goal.
I will be posting articles and keeping you updated on challenges I face and accomplishments I achieve along the way. I’m sure there will be plenty of selfies on my facebook page as well if you’d like to follow my progress there. 🙂
I want to thank all of you for the support and encouragement you’ve given me. I am so thankful for everyone’s positive feedback!
I hope that you’re as excited as I am to see the changes I’m about to go through and I’ll be sure to share everything I learn to help you in your personal fitness journey, as well .
Even though I will be holding myself accountable for every food that I eat on holidays, birthdays and get-togethers, that doesn’t mean you have to. Enjoy a little dietary freedom from time to time, but remember to get back on track immediately after you do.
I’d like to leave you with a fun picture of me eating my extremely clean meal of white rice, baked chicken and green beans while I was baking cookies on Christmas Eve.
If you’re wondering… No, I did not eat any of the cookies. Not even one. 🙂
